All are welcome under the stars. Come camp out in the mountain valley for an after party. Follow a lit path through the woods for more Live music with Taos’ Alyx Velarde, enjoy our fire, libations, and spend the night.
Here’s How It Works
After the show follow us into the Tusas Mountains up Forest Road 45. You’ll need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We’ll caravan up into the Mountains, I’ll be in a Gold Toyota 4Runner waiting to pilot anyone that wants to follow after the show. My name’s James. You’ll need to bring your camp gear (it’s camping, it gets cold) & remember to be respectful; we’re in the wild. Please be kind.
**There is no cell service once in the mountains.
It’s a 25 min drive to the village camp from The Shed Mercantile in Vallecitos
Nest Events has outfitted several Bell Tents with Queen Beds, Linens & Goose Down Comforters for a night’s rest in the mountains, available to rent for the evening: RSVP Required for Tent Rentals
Or, car/truck camp & simply enjoy the after party
DIRECTIONS TO THE AFTER PARTY
YOU’LL NEED 4X4 DRIVE & CLEARANCE. IT’S BEEN RAINING & THE FOREST ROADS HAVE DEEP PUDDLES
From Taos (if you’re not going to the House Show in Vallacitos):
-HWY 64 through Tres Piedras
-Past the junction of HW 285, Continue on HWY 64: Travel 7 miles/ 10 min.
-Left on HWY 111/ FR 42: Travel 7 miles/ 15 min. Along Switchbacks. Kiowa Mountain Stays on your left. Cross Vallacitos River. Pass FR 91B & sign for Hopewell Lake.
-Left on FR 110/ FR 45: Travel 4.5 miles / 18 min. Climb out of the valley. Travel the ridge line.
-Sharp Left FR 104: For this turn, You'll see a sign that reads Petaca (arrow straight ahead), Big Rock (arrow pointing left). That's the left you'll take: Travel 1.2 miles / 5 min
*FR 104B is directly after FR 104 on the left & is a shorter (0.8 miles to parking), yet very very difficult route.
-Sharp right turn at Signs I've posted: This turn is hard to see. Directly before the 1st fork in the road, make a dramatic sharp right. If you come to the fork, you've gone just a little bit too far. You are now on a barely visible forrest road: Travel 0.8 miles / 5 +/- min. Following down the valley, watch for signs I've posted along the way.
-Arrive at FR 104BT3
**If it’s still light out, you can park here & pack your gear to Camp Spot following my signs (it's not far), or Drive Following Signs to Camp spot for Truck Camping.
When using google maps, if it tells you to take Forrest Road 45B off of HWY 111, please re-route it to take you to FR 45 (Google Maps names it "FR 447", Sign post says 45). FR 45B is no longer safe.
-Coming from Taos or Santa Fe: Turn on HWY 111 At "Pigs for sale" sign: Travel 15.2 Miles/ 22 min
-Leaving the House Show in Vallecitos: Travel north on HWY 111: About 2.7 miles / 4 min.
-Right on FR 45 (**Google Maps says FR 447, Sign post says FR 45): Travel FR 45 for 13 miles / 20 min.
-Arrive at junction FR 45 / Fr 110.
-Stay left for FR 110. You'll see a sign that reads: US HWY 64: 11 Miles (arrow pointing left) / Petaca: 9 miles (arrow pointing right): Travel FR 110 for 0.5 miles / 2+ min
-Turn Right on FR 104. **FR 104B is directly before FR 104/ do not take this route, it’s very very difficult.
